Open your Bible to Ephesians 5:1 it says… Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; Go ahead and highlight that scripture.
When you listen to the Word of God, there’s only one direction your life can go… UP! Hallelujah! Seeking God, reading His Word and enjoying His presence. You see, you want God’s kingdom to rule within your spirit. Your inner life with God is much more important than your outer life. You’re always hungry for more of God! There’s always something new and greater to receive from His Word that will help you in life.
I’m teaching you today, how to live with a passion for Jesus and His kingdom ways. It’s a joy to receive the Holy Spirit preaching and teaching the Gospel of the kingdom. That’s right! You want His presence to be seen in you in public. There are millions of people who call themselves Christians, but they don’t reflect it in their lives. God wants you to be an imitator of Himself in the name of Jesus. How? You start filling your mind with the powerful Word of God. That’s how you become godly.
Men and Women of God are supposed to act much differently than those of the world. The most powerful message about who you are comes from God! Yes! Jesus has imprinted His name on you! Say, what? You see, when you read and hear God’s Word, you need to sit up and take notice. You have the opportunity today to make a difference not only in your life but in other peoples lives also.
How? You can give a personal testimony of God’s love toward you and you can give a testimony of the many wonderful things that God has done for people out of love. Jesus made us important by His love for us. So, how does a person become godly? You open yourself to His Truth. In a whole new way, on a whole new level. What does that mean? It means God’s Word will be a bright spotlight that guides your pathway everyday.
God wants His people to be imitators of Himself! You’re always in agreement with God and you learn to live by His Word. You see, if you want to walk with God, you must agree with God. He wants His Word to become the biggest part of you. You embrace God and all that He is and all that He does for you.
Over and over, again and again in the scriptures, God reminds us of His true nature. He’s a Seeker in this world. What did you say? He seeks relationships! God is the one who initiates a relationship with you. Almighty God wants to teach you and talk to you about how to live for Him. You can hear words from God that will dramatically change your life. It’s in the scriptures!
Christians ought to be seeking the Bible with a hunger to know as much as possible about the Lord and His purposes and ways. Why? To be imitators of God! Walking faithfully with God and regularly obeying what He tells you. That’s how you become godly. That’s how you become a follower of God. Now, raise your hands and say, I’m a Child, I’m a Friend, I’m a Follower of God!
