An Undisciplined Army Does Not Need a Recruitment Drive

Sometimes I listen to certain streams of the Christian church speaking about outpouring, reformation, and revival, as though that is the answer to the Christian church and the world. I want to ask a question in this article. What is the use of recruiting more soldiers when your current army is undisciplined?

As a writer, teacher, prophet, and friend of God I am constantly shocked at how undisciplined the current church is. If you asked a hundred Christians what Jesus taught, what were the main themes of his message, and what his parables meant, not more than two of them would be able to give you an answer, including most pastors and teachers in the faith.

Did you know that Jesus has 11 parables that were spoken to warn his followers that certain actions would take them to hell? The average Christian believes in a heresy that says once you have been born again you are forever secure of your eternal life in heaven. Most Christians personally believe that a one-paragraph sinners’ prayer is all a person needs to pray to get to heaven.

The idea that you have to continually work out your salvation and strive through fear and trembling to get into heaven is considered ludicrous When 50% of the church is currently not doing what they need to get to heaven and are living an undisciplined Christian life why does the church want to go and save more people to add to the mix?

The average Christian does not know that he is a soldier and does not know what scripture means when it calls on us to put off the old man, to deny our carnal nature, and to walk in the Spirit. The average Christian has no awareness that they are in a war and certainly does not act in any way that remotely looks like discipline. Their teachers don’t know Jesus, have no understanding of the deep things of Christ, are not modeling Jesus, and have no conception of how to guide their flocks in a war that could call for them to suffer and fight in the future.

Jesus has fifty commandments and before Jesus died, he said five times that if you truly love him that you should obey them, but even though he said that five times you will find 95% of Christians don’t even know that they exist. The average Christian lives their life like they are on a summer holiday and not in a long-drawn-out war and it is not a time for more soldiers, it’s time that the current army cleans up their act.
