If you don’t particularly like going to the gym, you might think it would be difficult to develop your muscles. When it comes to building muscles, people assume that weight training is the only option. Fortunately for anyone who doesn’t want to pay an expensive gym membership, there are a few sports you can try to develop your muscles.

Sports for muscle building – gymnastics

When I talk about gymnastics, you probably think you’re in PE, frozen, lining up to jump over a box. Well, gymnastics is actually a great workout to develop muscles. Gymnastics is the type of sport that uses flexibility and control, which is ideal for developing muscles.

Sports to develop muscles – swimming

Swimming is still considered a cardio workout, but the water resistance makes it an excellent strength training. Swimming is also a fairly gentle exercise, so if you’re just starting to develop your muscles, it’s a good place to start. In fact, many people use swimming to rehabilitate themselves after a muscle injury.

Sports to build muscle – boxing

Boxing seems to be an incredibly masculine sport, but there are many famous women who use boxing to build up their muscles. Super celebrities like Gigi Hadid and Kourtney Kardashian box to tone up and gain muscle. You’d be surprised how ten minutes can exhaust you, and it’s also great cardio, so you get a 2-in-1.

Muscle building sports – surfing

If you are lucky enough to live close to the coast, surfing or paddle-boarding are two excellent ways to develop your muscles. Surfing is based on the concept of balance and is well known for muscle building. You use your heart at all times, which is one of the reasons why it ends up being a great workout for your stomach muscles. The only thing is that it may take you a while as a beginner to even be able to stand up, but learning to surf means you would have a pretty cool skill.
